What is anarchy and finch?
anarchy and finch is a bi-weekly (twice a week) web serial with high fantasy and folklore elements in a surreal dreamlike setting. Updates every Monday and Friday. Content warnings can be found at the end of this page.
Sadie Crane has been haunted since they were eighteen years old. Not by ghosts (already got plenty of those) but voices and visions of their best friend Sybil and what happened in the woods that night. They’re not entirely convinced it wasn’t a hallucination or a story. But something is in the air. Something is stirring on All Creation. Something is waking up. They can’t take much more of this.
They return to their hometown by request of their very good friend Viola, unready to face their past but, well–the farmhouse needs cleaning out. And they can’t run away forever. And maybe they want to see Viola and De’afi, their two closest friends in All Creation, one last time.
Viola proposes a radical idea. One last road trip, with the goal of finally putting Sybil to rest. Sadie Crane thinks she’s nuts, De’afi is totally on board. Ultimately, it’s about honoring Sybil’s memory. It’s about closure. Or so they tell themselves. Trouble is, Sybil doesn’t want to rest. Viola and De’afi couldn’t know Sybil like Sadie Crane did. Does.
And that’s where this really starts. Three Punks making an epic journey to parts unknown, across the great ark of Arcadia. With just two motorbikes, a lucky jackalope’s foot, and memories of someone long gone they just can’t let go of. Running from literal and metaphorical specters, strange visions, old spirits, and perhaps even long-dead gods. But that is not the end of their story. Or anyone’s story. The world is a vast and impossibly large chaos, after all.
what the hell does all this mean? idk man you’re just gonna have to read it and see.
